Only 150 Panthers Left In State, Officials Say

CHULUOTA, Fla. -- State wildlife officials are celebrating a panther sighting in Seminole County.
A set of tracks of a male panther was discovered in the Bronson State Forest, wildlife officials said.
Wildlife officials said Florida panthers are considered endangered with only about 100 to 160 left in the entire state, the majority of which are in the Everglades of South Florida.
Wildlife officials said they are hoping a female panther will also relocate to the area so the species will continue to expand.
